29 June, 2026IZAR Cutting Tools is collaborating in the "Intelligent Machining of Titanium Alloys for the Aerospace Industry" project, an initiative led by Zulaibar Arratiako Lanbide Ikastegia and promoted by the Basque Government's Vice-Ministry of Vocational Education, with the participation of BATZ Group. The project aims to foster innovation in advanced machining processes through collaboration between vocational training centres and industrial companies.
IZAR's contribution focuses on providing technical expertise and carrying out industrial cutting tool tests to evaluate their performance in machining titanium and its alloys, materials that are particularly demanding and widely used in the aerospace sector. Significant progress has already been achieved, including the integration of a machine vision system into a CNC machine to monitor tool wear and the development of a system that enables automatic verification without modifying the machine's main program.
Through this initiative, IZAR reinforces its commitment to innovation, technological development and knowledge transfer between industry and vocational education. The company highlights that projects of this kind help improve productivity, quality and sustainability in manufacturing processes while strengthening talent development and the competitiveness of the industrial sector.
