17 May, 2025Acha Herramientas is celebrating its 85th anniversary with an exhibition at the Museum of the Arms Industry in Eibar, showcasing its history and precision tools, symbols of industrial excellence.
Founded in 1940 by Esteban Acha and Concha Garitaonaindia, the company embodies the values that shaped Basque industrialization: effort, vision, and adaptability. From its first workshop in a chicken coop in Zaldibar to its current headquarters in Azitain, the company has evolved without losing its family essence.
A major turning point came in the 1960s, when Acha specialized in calipers, compasses, and squares, and the second generation joined the business. Since 1964, Acha has exported its products across Europe, reaching 80% international sales by 1982.
Today, with the third generation leading the company, Acha blends tradition and innovation, investing in R&D and digitalization while remaining true to its roots. With a team of just eight employees, it upholds its commitment to quality and local manufacturing.
During the event, Mayor Jon Iraola praised Acha’s journey as “an example of entrepreneurship,” and a benchmark of Eibar’s industrial legacy. The exhibition stands as a tribute to a story of dedication and excellence.
